New York League of Puerto Rican Women College Award

The League is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization whose mission is the advancement of Puerto Rican/Hispanic women through higher education. The League’s College Awards are $1,000 each, and are granted to Puerto Rican undergraduate women selected for their academic excellence and service to the community. The League receives no government funding and the College Awards are supported by community donations. These financial awards are granted annually to undergraduate Puerto Rican women selected for their academic excellence and service to the community.

Award / Eligibility Details:

To be eligible, applicants must be currently matriculated as an undergraduate student in an accredited institution of higher education (having earned a minimum of 12 accumulated credits); have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.0 with no failing grades; demonstrate service to the community; and be available to attend an interview with our College Award Committee. Applicants also need to provide an official college transcript by the deadline date (please see application) and two (2) letters of recommendation from a professor, college advisor, employer or supervisor, and submit a 4" by 6" (minimum size) color photo of the applicant in appropriate professional attire for inclusion in our Commemorative Journal, and email a copy to Rozmed@aol.com.
