What is Office365?

The Baruch College student e-mail system is a web-based service, provided by Microsoft's Office365 for Undergraduate, Graduate and Non-Degree students enrolled for courses. This service is the building-block in providing a more feature-rich set of tools for collaboration using cloud-based Microsoft product offerings such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Additional services in the future will include chat and presence, video collaboration and more to compliment the previous additions of a shared calendar, address book and IM.

What are the benefits to Office365?

  • Cloud-based email and calendars powered by Microsoft Exchange Online
  • 1TB of Storage Space per User
  • Office365 Cloud-Based Web Apps (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneNote)
  • Better Collaboration (Chat and Presence)
  • Improved Mobile Access - Support for iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone
  • Keep Your Account Even After You Graduate

Returning Students - What do I need to know about the transition?

Prior students will not need to do anything to enjoy the benefits of Office365. Service will not be interrupted. The transition will be performed by Microsoft and need no action on your part. Your account login info will not change. However, There are a few things you will need to know:

  • Update Your Bookmarks
To login and check your Baruchmail, students must go to the following web portals:
Older links will NOT work. If you have used or in the past, these will NOT work using your username and password once your account has been migrated to Office365.
  • Two Separate Accounts:
BaruchMail (Office365) Account: You will continue to use Microsoft Outlook Web App or Microsoft Outlook to view and send email from your school account, but you will sign in at or using the same user name and password.
Please note: In Office 365 you will not see our logo, but Baruch College still administers this account. This is also known as an "Organizational Account."
Personal Microsoft account: This personal account will give you access to all existing SkyDrive content, Messenger, and other Microsoft services. You will use the same user name and password that was used to access Live@edu. Note that Baruch College no longer administers this account. As a result, we cannot reset the password for you.
  • Mobile Device Settings Remain The Same
If you are using a mobile device to retrieve your email, you will not need to make any changes. Your mobile settings remain the same. To configure your mobile device, please view our page on How to Get Your Office365 E-mail on Your Mobile Device.
