Our Mission
The Office of the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, providing academic leadership to Baruch College, supports excellence in the production and dissemination of knowledge through high quality teaching, scholarship, and learning. The Office marshals resources to foster an educational environment that encourages intellectual growth and innovation, and service to the Baruch community and beyond.
The Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs provides direction and administrative oversight for academic programs and services to the college including the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, the Zicklin School of Business, the School of Public Affairs, the Office of the Vice President for Enrollment Services, the Newman Library, the Baruch College Technology Center, the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute, and the Mishkin Art Gallery.
The Provost and Senior Vice President oversees all academic activities including instructional research and analysis, skills assessment and testing, academic advisement and student academic counseling, academic personnel and budget, faculty development, and cultural and enrichment programs.
The Provost's oversight includes hosting CUNY's Fourth Annual General Education Conference, to be held on May 2, 2008.
Coordinating many of these functions and reporting to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs are the Associate Provost for Academic Administration; and the Associate Provost for Faculty Development. The Executive Assistant to the Provost provides managerial support.
