Having completed military service in my native South Korea, I pursued doctoral studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where I specialized in International Relations, Comparative Political Economy, and East Asian Studies. My scholarly work centers on analyzing financial crises and state responses, drawing extensively from the experiences of Japan, South Korea, and China. I currently teach courses that examine political economy, Asia's emergence as a global force, and the strategic dimensions of US-Asia relations.
