Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship

Return to Fellowship Search

Established by Congress in 1986, the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation operates an educational scholarship program designed to provide opportunities for outstanding U.S. students with excellent academic records and demonstrated interest in, and potential for, careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, and engineering. The Goldwater Scholarship provides up to $7,500.00 per year for educational expenses to 300 college juniors and seniors. Junior award winners receive two years of aid, seniors receive one year. Most award winners have substantive, supervised undergraduate research experience. Candidates for Goldwater scholarships are nominated by their college or university. The Foundation will not solicit or accept applications directly from candidates but will advise applicants as to the appropriate procedures.
