Ben-Gurion University (BGU) is committed to offering students from around the globe an immersive experience where they can step beyond the bounds of tourism, take part in our active campus life, and integrate into the local community. The institution is located in Beer-Sheva, Israel, a multicultural city on the edge of the vast Negev Desert, is an ideal place for international students to advance their studies and experience Israel. It serves equally well as a jumping off point to explore the rest of country, with convenient transport options making it possible to easily reach all corners of Israel. BGU will be giving one highly qualified student from North America the opportunity to take that exploration even further by awarding a travel grant of $2,500 for travel to be undertaken directly before, after, or during the stay at BGU for a semester or academic year of study or research internship.

Award / Eligibility Details:

To be eligible, the applicant must submit a BGU Overseas Student Program (OSP) application for semester or year-long studies or a full-time internship; be enrolled in or graduate of a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university in the US or Canada; be in above-average academic standing, with a minimum 3.0 GPA (83%). The grant can be used to cover travel expenses within Israel for one of the following purposes, to: continue or develop a research project with a faculty supervisor from your home institution; develop a project or research for personal or academic development; supplement work in the BGU research internship program with relevant travel; or engage in an independent study with a BGU faculty supervisor (must be approved by the faculty member).
