    Instructional Media Production Studio

The Digital Learning Hub supports the following media production services:

    • Green Screen Lecture Capture
    • In-Person Interview
    • In-Person Panel
    • Zoom Interview or Panel
    • Lightboard Lecture Capture
    • Podcasts
    • Re-use or editing of existing audio/video content
    • Promotional Clips or Videos
    • Location shoots (*requires additional planning/approvals)

Studio sessions are scheduled in 2-hour blocks, and you can have multiple per day. You may book blocks directly, but please feel free to reach out to our team if you need assistance scheduling.

Book the Digital Learning Hub Studio

DLH can assist with scheduling as needed. It is not expected that the whole 2 hours be used. The first 20-30 minutes are for setting up (getting the microphone on, ensuring the slides are set up for recording, and going through any last-minute questions). Then, we can get through as much content as is ready. If finished early, you can leave early or use the extra time to record additional lectures.

The Instructional Media Specialist will edit and prepare finalized video content. In rare instances, there may be issues we notice in post-production editing that would require a reshoot. While we do our best to address any concerns during the initial recording, we will reach out if it turns out that reshoots are necessary.

In general reshooting lectures for reasons other than egregious errors is not possible given limited studio availability, so ensuring your content is accurate and finalized before coming into the studio is essential. There will be one opportunity per course for reshoots scheduled at a later date.

    Wardrobe

    • For the recording, a lavalier/lapel microphone will be used. It is recommended that lecturers wear a button-up and/or jacket. Aim for business casual.
    •  Solid colors work best. Avoid logos, busy patterns, stripes, sequins, moirĂ© (texture that is too small for the camera to capture), and black or white.
    • Most lectures are captured in front of a green screen, so avoid wearing green. If recording with a light board, lighter colors work well.
    • Avoid wearing shiny or noisy jewelry.
    • Avoid clothes with too many wrinkles, holes, or stains. Use a lint roller beforehand.
    • We recommend bringing a couple of outfit options just in case.

    Lecture Prep

    • Scripts are not recommended. If necessary, bring a list of notes and/or bullet points.
    • It is extremely helpful to practice the lecture beforehand. You should arrive at the studio knowing the main points you will be covering and the sequence of your slides.

    Being on Camera

    • Use the same tone of voice you would use when addressing a class.
    • Avoid touching your face.
    • Maintain eye contact with the camera.
    • Be mindful of your posture.
    • Do not worry about mistakes. We can do multiple takes until you are comfortable with the presentation.
