Event Description:
The Global Economic Networks (GEN) Workshop will bring together scholars interested in international trade, multinational firms, and global supply chains, with a particular focus on network aspects of the global economy. The event will feature 2 keynote talks, approx. 12-14 presentations from scholars in the field of international economics and host up to 30 attendees, including but not limited to the faculty members from Baruch’s Econ and Finance Department (e.g., Sebastiano Manzan, Guillaume Haeringer, Dhruva Bhaskar, Tracy Henry, Babak Somekh, Laetitia Placido, Dexin Zhou, Yehuda Izhakian, Michael Richter, Jonathan Wang, Bohdan Kukharskyy), Marxe School (e.g., Asli Leblebicioglu), CUNY/Graduate Center (e.g., Paul Krugman, Francesc Ortega). In addition to pushing the research boundaries, the goal of the Workshop is threefold:
(i) Increase Baruch’s visibility among international scientific community,
(ii) Allow faculty member to discuss their research with renowned scholars in the field of International Trade and Economic Networks,
(iii) Strengthen existing research collaborations and potentially initiate new research opportunities with workshop attendees from internationally renowned Universities and “local” schools (such as Columbia, NYU, Princeton, Stony Brook, SUNY) |
