The show will open on September 10 and run through December 1 at the New Media Artspace gallery in Baruch’s Library and Information Building, 151 E. 25th Street. While NeoGeo explores the Deep Time of the geologic record, Landfill Club, is a social practice project that "drills up" into future Deep Time.

The New Media Artspace is a teaching exhibition space in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Baruch College, CUNY. Housed in the Newman Library, the New Media Artspace showcases curated experimental media and interdisciplinary artworks by international artists, students, alumni, and faculty. 4.jpgSteven V. Melnik, Esq., LLM (Tax), J.D., CPA. is an Associate Professor of Tax Law and the Academic Director, Graduate and Undergraduate Tax Areas at Baruch College, CUNY. He is chair of Continuing Education for Attorneys, Financial Planners and CPAs - Zicklin Tax Seminars, CUNY. He is an attorney licensed to practice in NY and NJ States. His areas of concentration include Estate, Medicaid, and Tax Planning as well as Domestic and International Asset Protection. He has over 15 years of experience helping individuals with their Strategic Planning Needs.

Mr. Melnik is a former member of the Advisory group to United States Department of Treasury. He is the author of the Amazon #1 Best Seller Tax Relief and Resolution: The Ultimate Guide to Paying Less to the IRS Starting Now (Flamenco Press, 2014). He madeappearances on many major news networks, such as NBC, CNBC, CBS, BLOOMBERG News. Mr. Melnik regularly publishes in most respected national academic and professional journals; gives educational seminars throughout the country and in conjunctions with various governmental agencies, such as Social Security Administration and the office of Medicaid. He was an Honorary Host of the Annual IRS Symposium in NYC.

Mr. Melnik's contribution to the education and well being of New York residents has been recognized by the Borough Presidents of Manhattan and Brooklyn. He is a recipient of "Outstanding Teaching Award", Baruch College Zicklin School of Business; Member of Graduate Executive Degree in Law, Andersen Worldwide.

Mr. Melnik received his BBA, Magna Cum Laude from Baruch College, JD, Magna Sum Laude from New York Law School and LLM in Taxation from New York University School of Law. Mr. Melnik is also a CPA.

sidney kess photoSidney Kess, Esq., CPA, J.D., LLM, Of Counsel, Kostelanetz & Fink, LLP, New York, NY, recently selected “Most Influential Practitioner” by CPA Magazine, is a nationally renowned tax expert and author/coauthor of hundreds of tax books on financial and estate planning.  Having lectured to more than 850,000 practitioners on tax, financial and estate planning, he is one of the nation’s best known lecturers in continuing professional education.  Mr. Kess is consulting editor of CCH Incorporated’s Financial and Estate Planning Reporter. Mr. Kess was chairman of the advisory board of Tax Hotline and is a member of the PPC Tax Action Panel.  He has edited a column on “Tax Tips” for the New York Law Journal for the past 45 years.  Mr. Kess edits the AICPA’s CPA Client Bulletin and CPA Client Tax Letter. He is Executive Editor Tax of CPA Magazine.  He has also written hundreds of AICPA tax workshops, audio and video programs, and is the recipient of the AICPA Distinguished Lecturer Award.  Mr. Kess is often quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and other national publications.  He was included in Accounting Today’s “100 Most Influential CPAs in the U.S.” for several years as well as CPA Magazine’s “Most Influential CPAs in the U.S”.  Mr. Kess was the National Director of Tax at KPMG Main Hurdman and a tax partner at KPMG Peat Marwick.  Mr. Kess was also a recipient of the AICPA’s 2011 Gold Medal Award for distinguished service to the accounting profession.  This award is the highest award granted to a CPA by the AICPA. Mr. Kess was counted among “125 People of Impact in Accounting” by The Journal of Accountancy in its June 2012 issue celebrating the AICPA’s 125th anniversary.  Mr. Kess was inducted into the New York State Society of CPA’s Hall of Fame.  Mr. Kess is the recipient of the AICPA’s “Special Recognition Award” for his many years of contributions to the AICPA’s continuing professional education program and was elected to the Estate Planning Hall of Fame by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils for his distinguished service to the field of estate planning.  The AICPA established the Sidney Kess Award for Excellence in Continuing Education to recognize individual CPAs who have made significant and outstanding contributions in tax and financial planning and whose public service exemplifies the CPA profession’s values and ethics.  Sidney Kess was the first recipient of this Award.

He received his JD from Harvard University School of Law, LLM from New York University Graduate School of Law and BBA from Baruch College.
