The “The Politics of Race in America” March 9th program will address the complexity of racial profiling and the impact it has on public perception and legislative policy. Panel experts include Marc Morial, the President and CEO of the National Urban League, the largest historic civil rights and urban advocacy organization in America and Baruch College Weissman School Professors: Dr. Shelly Eversley, Faculty Fellow in the Office of the Provost and Interim Chair of Black and Latino Studies Department and Dr. Marcus Johnson, Assistant Professor of political science. The panel is moderated by Weissman Dean, Aldemaro Romero Jr.
Art Speaks Justice, looks at the intersection of the artist message in context with the social justice topic explored to give the audience a substantive, engaging perspective. This program on racial justice will comment on the messaging in the Baruch Performing Arts Center's upcoming musical-drama called dwb (driving while black) which opens March 19th.
Art Speaks Justice is sponsored by the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences (WSAS) in conjunction with previewing a new artistic exhibition or production in either the Baruch Performing Arts Center (BPAC) or the Mishkin Gallery.
