FSA Updates

Dependent Child Care Assistance Program (DeCAP) participants can suspend their DeCAP deductions or lower their annual goal amount by submitting an online request to the FSA program, submit a letter via secure email, or fax a letter to (877) 290-6587.

Upon return to work, DeCAP participants can resume their deductions by notifying the FSA Program that they would like to resume. Additionally, they can submit a claim for any deductions taken already this year with eligible claim dates.

Health Plan Coverage for employees hired on or after July 1, 2019

City of New York employees, and employees of Participating Employers, hired on or after July 1, 2019, and their eligible dependents, will only be eligible to enroll in the EmblemHealth HIP HMO Preferred Plan, and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first year (365 days) of employment.

After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365 day period. If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.

Only after the 365th day can the employee participate in any Annual Fall Transfer Period.

An employee who needs to request an exemption from the required enrollment in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan can do so by submitting a HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form. An employee, or eligible dependent, must meet certain criteria and the request must be approved by EmblemHealth before the exemption is granted.

Weight Watchers – City of New York

WeightWatchers are hosting live Virtual Workshops beginning Thursday, March 19. Your link to join and schedule of Workshop times will be available in your Virtual Studio that you should receive via e-mail. It will also be a hub for you and fellow Studio members to post, get strategies from a WW Coach, and stay updated.

Benefits of Virtual Workshops
1. Privacy: For those that don’t like being on camera, the video setting can be shut off at any time. The weigh-in will happen via the app only.
2. Constant Support: Members can communicate with fellow members in their Connect group any time—not just during the live Workshop.
3. Convenience: Virtual Workshops can happen right from home--no shoes required!

Virtual Workshops will be held via Zoom video conferencing, which will maintain member’s personal connection to a Coach, and will deliver their workshop seamlessly. Over the next few days, we will provide a link to the WW App so members can join their new Virtual workshop in Connect, our private social network. For members’ convenience, Zoom will work in a web browser or via a phone call.
