The QGIS website gives you the option to download the Latest Release or Long Term Release - this workshop always uses the Long Term Release. 2.18 Las Palmas is currently the LTR release. Once QGIS transitions to using 3.4 Madeira as the LTR in spring 2019 the manual be revised to use the new version.
