Event Description:
THE LARAMIE PROJECT

March 2, 7:30pm

Rosalyn and Irwin Engelman Recital Hall

Reservations

The Laramie Project by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project, tells the story of life that goes on after tragedy. It tells the story of distance, of confusion and of loss. In 1998, the town of Laramie, Wyoming became a place known to the whole nation, as Matthew Shepard lost his life due to the hate of others. In 2016, Orlando, Florida became known for the lost of 49 lives for the same reason.

In partnership with The Laramie Project Project and united with its other 65 international performances, this student run production of The Laramie Project sets out to keep these stories alive and raise awareness to the importance of education against hate. In a night dedicated to the theme of “Arts Activism”, all proceeds from our show will be donated to The Dru Project, an organization dedicated to the memory of Pulse victim Christopher Andrew “Drew” Lenionen. This production is also sponsored by Baruch GLASS.”
