Event Description: RSVP REQUIRED TO ATTEND: www.cssny.org/loans
Student loan debt
is a huge and growing problem, which disproportionately impacts
communities of color and low-income New Yorkers, making it difficult for
them to make ends meet, build savings, start families, buy homes and
complete their education. Under President Trump, the federal government
has steadily abandoned its role in protecting consumers from
unscrupulous for-profit colleges and loan servicers.
Join
us for a keynote address and panel discussion to explore what we can do
to address this problem; its implications for upward mobility; and how
New York compares with what is happening nationally.

Seth Frotman, Founder and Executive Director Student Borrower Protection Center, Former Student Loan Ombudsman CFPB

Tara Siegel Bernard, Personal Finance Reporter, The New York Times
