The Department of Modern Languages and Comparative Literature at the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences and the Paul Andre Feit Lecture Series presents
Adolfo Mena Cejas
historian and filmmaker

After screening his two short films - Nani and Tati (2013) and Be a good liar, Jackie Chang (2014) – Cuban art
will talk about the realities of the film industry in contemporary Cuba. He will address issues including training, funding, and free artistic expression. A lively dialogue with audience members will follow.

About Adolfo Mena Cejas:
Director, producer, and screenwriter, Adolfo Mena Cejas is a graduate of the University of Havana with a degree in Art History.He will talk about youth culture and film-making in Cuba. His first short film, Nani y Tati, has won various awards, including “Best Fiction” and “Best Soundtrack” at the Muestra Joven (Young Cinema Exhibition) sponsored by ICAIC in 2013. His second short film, Miénteme bien, Jackie Chang (Be a good liar, Jackie Chang), was award “Best Short Film” by the Association of Cinematographic Press of Cuba in 2014.
