Event Description:

Dear White People

A free screening of a powerful, funny and very relatable satire about being a black face in a white place. This film addresses race, gender and LGBTQ issues. Dr. Arthur Lewin from the Black and Latino Studies Department will lead a brief discussion after the film. Refreshments will be served.

The film was directed by Justin Simien. His first feature film, Dear White People, won the U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Award for Breakthrough Talent at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. Simien has also been named to Variety magazine's 2014 "10 Directors to Watch" list.
