Event Description: The Global Student Certificate Program at the Weissman Center for International Business presents a new series of masterclasses in the arts, A Tour of the World in Six Artworks.
This series of 6 masterclasses by art historians will connect world cultures with the fine arts, to see if we can find an alternate way to become globally-accomplished students. For Baruch students who wish to in order to operate at the highest echelons of business and industry, a working knowledge of art history and culture will be indispensable.
The fourth event in the series is given by Nitin Ron, neonatologist, mountain climber and docent at the Rubin Museum of Art.
“The Story of Goddess Tara: Exploring the Hidden Messages in a Tibetan Buddhist Statue”
Nitin Ron is excited to share with you the story and the significance of one of his favorite goddesses, the Green Tara. There are beautiful metaphors and great life lessons hidden in the story of her creation as well as in her countenance, which has implications for us in day-to-day life as well as in personal and business relationships! Together we will explore what she has to teach us.
