    WIFI

    Baruch College Campus Wireless Network

    Baruch College provides access to its wireless network (WIFI) to faculty, staff, currently-enrolled Baruch College students, and guest.  The CUNY Computer Users Responsibilities policy applies to users of the wireless network.

    Students

    Connect to the Baruch SSID with your Baruch username and password.

    Step 1- Find your devices internet/wifi settings and connect to “Baruch”

    Step 2 – Use your Baruch username and password to connect to the wifi.
    Please use your default password if you have not changed it since your enrollment at Baruch or if you recently received a password reset. 

    Baruch Default Password
    Your initial password format follows your date of birth and the last four digits of your social security number. Follow this format: YYMmmDD + last four digits of your SSN. For example, August 10, 1992, would be 92Aug102346. Another example is December 12, 1983, which would be 83Dec120184.

    Faculty & Staff

    Connect to the Baruch SSID with your Baruch username and password.

    Wifi

     

    Guests

    Individuals who have an event scheduled and have requested a Guest Pass will be given a unique shared key that may distributed among attendees. This must be done well in advance and submitted through the Helpdesk.

    Guests who have a guest access pass will log onto the following access point (aka SSID): Baruch-Events

    Your event host will provide further instructions on how to connect and authenticate to the WiFi.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Enter your Guest Pass and select “Log In.” Once you agree to the Terms of Service you will be authenticated and then logged in.

    eduroam

    Baruch also provides access to the eduroam network.  Any student, faculty or staff from an eduroam affiliated school can connect using the “eduroam” SSID.

    Use your CUNY Login username (firstname.lastnameXX@login.cuny.edu), where XX is the last two digits of your EMPLID) and password to use eduroam.  Eduroam will also provide Wi-Fi access at all other CUNY campuses.

    Baruch College offers wireless connectivity for use with mobile devices and is widely available across most of the campus. To access the wireless network, login authentication is used to verify affiliation with the college. Simply enable wireless on your mobile device and connect to the “Baruch” SSID.

    WIFI Coverage Areas

    The Baruch College wireless network is available in the following locations:

    • Newman Vertical Campus – Complete coverage WiFi 6
    • Library and Technology Building – Complete coverage WiFi 6
    • Field Building (17 Lex) — Complete coverage WiFi 6
    • Administration Building — Complete coverage WiFi 5 (WiFi 6 coming this fall)
    • Newman Real Estate Institute – Complete coverage WiFi 5 (WiFi 6 coming this fall)
    • Annex Building – Complete coverage is available only on the floors occupied by Baruch College WiFi 6
    • Clivner=Field Plaza —  Most spaces directly in front of the Information and Technology building WiFi 6
