My research interests are basically divided into two categories.
Bio-inorganic chemistry & Environmental chemistry
Bio-inorganic
chemistry - I am interested in looking at the thermodynamic
and kinetic
aspects of transition metal complexes which are formed with macrocyclic
ligands and explore their functions, properties and structure-activity
relationships in biological systems. I am particularly interested
in understanding the aspects of "macrocylic effect "
of these metal complexes.
Environmental
chemistry - I am also interested in exploring the field of
pesticides and their effects on the environment. This relates
to the analysis of pesticide residues on fruits, vegetables and
other commodities as well as the effects of these residues on
water bodies.
