DEPARTMENT HOSTS FIRST VISITING JOURNALIST
One of the country's most distinguished business journalists, Allan Sloan of Fortune magazine, spent a week on campus recently as the first Ratner Visiting Business Journalist.
Sloan visited the business journalism and covering economics courses and met with the staff of Dollars & Sense (pictured here).
Sloan has won seven Loeb awards (the highest honor in business journalism) in four different categories -- newspapers, magazines, commentary and lifetime -- for five different employers -- The Detroit Free Press, Forbes, Newsday, Newsweek and Fortune – over four decades.
Sloan is a graduate of Brooklyn College/CUNY.
Gretchen Morgenson, the Pulitzer-Prize-winning reporter and columnist for The New York Times, will be the Ratner fellow in the spring.
