Jeffrey Apfel is Clinical Professor of Public Affairs at Baruch College's Marxe School of Public and International Affairs. In that capacity he teaches in, and is the Program Director for, the School's Master of Science in Education Program in Higher Education Administration. Dr. Apfel has significant professional experience in higher education, having worked as the senior officer for financial and administrative matters at Brandeis University, Rutgers University and Rhode Island School of Design. His background also includes experience as an investment banker structuring financing programs for higher education institutions at Drexel Burnham Lambert and L.F. Rothschild. Prior to his work in higher education and investment banking he worked as a Program Associate in the New York State Governor's Office and the New York City Office of Management and Budget.
Dr. Apfel has a B.A. degree from Syracuse University, a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University at Albany and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Rutgers University-Newark.
