Description:
Irene Gomez, along with Harpsichordist Elliot Figg, will perform the music of composers Tarrega, Albeniz, Ponce, Morel, Coulanges, Isaza, Samper, Sarmiento, and new Latino American composers.

Born in Bogotá, Irene Gómez has been praised by Classical Guitar Magazine (United Kingdom) and Soundboard (USA) as a "wonderfully expressive guitarist with great musicianship and creativity." Irene Gomez has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in the world’s leading cities, including Paris, New York, Washington, Chicago, Dallas, Caracas and Bogotá. She has also performed in Metz, Dijon, Bergerac, Basel, Liestal, Brno, Olomouc, and Erie, PA. Ms. Gómez is also an award-winning holder of the Gold Medal in Guitar and Chamber Music from Claude Debussy Conservatoire in France with Javier Quevedo. She received the "Fin d'études" diplome at Paris XV Conservatoire with Betho Davezak, and was the first person graduated as a guitarist from the Colombian National University in 1991 under the guidance of Ramiro Isaza. Ms. Gomez has been soloist with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogotá and the Orchestra of the Music Conservatory.

Due to high demand around the world, Ms. Gomez’s CD album recordingsSunset Guitar (2000), En los bosques (2004), Images (2006) and Estudios and Fantasias (2010), have been re-released in new editions and have received outstanding reviews from both critics and audiences.
