A New New York: The Constitutional Dimension

Event Description:
The Conference on the Constitutional Dimension has three purposes:
    1. Reinforce for New Yorkers the importance of our state constitution in ordinary, day-to-day state governance.
    2. Help prepare New Yorkers for the mandatory vote scheduled for 2017 on whether or not we should have a constitutional convention. 
    3. Focus attention on the six constitutional amendments passed this year by the state legislature for consideration by voters at referendum.

Here are a few of the folks invited to talk: Gerald Benjamin, a political science professor at SUNY-New Paltz; 
Bill Samuels, the founder of New Roosevelt Institute and Effective NY; Eleanaor Randolph of the New York Times; Susan Lerner, executive director of Common Cause New York; and former Assemblyman Richard Brodsky.
