Description:
Now in its 18th year, the Milt Hinton Series at Baruch Performing Arts Center is proud to bring you a sneak preview of a forthcoming four-part BBC/PBS series “Latin Music USA” http://www.pbs.org/aboutpbs/news/20081016_latinmusicusa.html that will air on PBS on October 12 and 19 during Hispanic Heritage Month. World-renowned, multi-Grammy-nominated, Latin and Jazz percussionist Bobby Sanabria will host the sneak preview presenting background information mixed with video clips of the forthcoming series. “Latin Music USA” invites the audience into the vibrant musical conversation between Latinos and non-Latinos that has helped shape the history of popular music in the United States. The life experiences of the many artists interviewed for the series will reveal how Latinos have reinvented their music in the United States and forged new identities within this country, while never losing sight of their own rich traditions. This presentation is FREE and open to the public.
