The Executive MBA in Healthcare Administration
The Executive MBA in Healthcare Administration (EMBA-HCA) prepares individuals for leadership positions in a wide variety of healthcare organizations. It achieves this by:
- developing executive students’ analytical and decision-making skills,
- helping them build a strong foundation in business, and
- providing them with a thorough, current knowledge of the healthcare industry.
This is an accelerated part-time program designed to be completed in 30 months. It also meets the educational requirements of The Commission on Accreditation Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). Since this program is only offered on a part-time basis, it may not be taken by international students whose visas require full-time study.
Students are registered for a total of 49.5 semester credits. This includes MBA core requirements and several required courses outside the core.
Admissions
Candidates for the EMBA-HCA program should have:
- Full-time experience in healthcare
- An undergraduate degree from an accredited university
- Appropriate quantitative skills (demonstrated via GMAT/GRE score or our in-house Admissions Test). To see if you qualify for our in-house admission test please email HCA@baruch.cuny.edu

Degree Requirements
Students must earn 49.5 credits for the Executive MBA in Healthcare Administration degree, maintain a cumulative 3.000 grade point average, and satisfy all Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business and Executive Programs policies, rules, and regulations.
A student whose GPA falls below 3.000 after taking 6 or more credits in the program will be on academic probation. He or she must comply with all Baruch College requirements of grade probation status to continue in the program. Please refer to the current Baruch College Graduate Bulletin, discussion of General Academic Regulations (here), for information on these requirements.
Because this is a cohort program, all students take the same courses together and in the same order. Any student who enters grade probation status may not be able to complete the EMBA-HCA program within the period of 30 months.
Due to the trimester format of the program, please refer to your enrollment contract for the program payment schedule and for the program’s refund policy.
Students taking all of the courses offered in this cohort program are, by definition, considered to be full-time students.
