CUNYfirst offers two different reporting services. Read more about each below and how to access.

Production Reporting data is real time.

Development Reporting is from previous day through midnight.

Production Reporting Tools

The CUNYfirst service includes production Reporting Tools (HR/Campus Solutions > Reporting Tools >Query > Query Viewer). The queries in the production Reporting Tools use live production data and the queries are managed by CUNY Central CIS. The production Reporting Tools queries are generally written to cover a general data need and often use prompts for to limit results to a particular institution, semester, career, etc. The production queries may not necessarily be specific to the unique needs of an individual business unit's process or data needs, but in these cases may serve as a starting point for a customization in the reporting instance, the instance that CUNY CIS allows the campus to develop and run queries on.

Development Reporting Instance

The development reporting instance is a separate service which allows assignment of Query Manager role for creation, editing, and deletion of private queries, copying of public queries for editing, and viewing and scheduling of public or private queries. The development reporting instance also allows for assignment of Query Viewer role for viewing, organizing and scheduling public and private queries. All data in Reporting Instance have are one day older than CUNYfirst production system.

Access Production Reporting Tools

Go to https://home.cunyfirst.cuny.edu/oam/Portal_Login1.html to access CUNYfirst log-in page.  Place Username and Password then click Log-in.

 

Select 'HR/Campus Solution' and click.

 

Click on 'Reporting Tools'.

 

Click on 'Query Viewer' link to access query.

 

Type a query name next to 'begin with' and hit 'search' button to fetch the query.  

 

Click on 'Excel' to download a report from a separate window or 'Schedule' the same query for a Query Manger or Query Viewer.  

Development Reporting Instance

Select 'Reporting HR/Campus Solution' and click.

 

 From menu select and click 'Reporting Tools' to access Query Manager/viewer.

 

Select 'Query Manger' or 'Query Viewer' based on an user accesses permission level.

 

Search to find an existing query.  For example: CU_BAR or any public query then hit 'Search' button.  User can be very specific to type their own query as the image shown below:

 

Select the appropriate query and click 'Edit' link to display properties for a query for a Query Manger.  Click 'Excel' link to download a report for a Query Manger or Query Viewer.  User can also add any queries to their favorite.  For QM Select a query then click on Action drop down box, choose 'add to Favorites' then click 'Go'.  For QV click 'Favorite' link for any chosen query will be added to an user's screen.
