Student Academic Consulting Center (SACC)
The Student Academic Consulting Center (SACC) mainly consists of Baruch students who have walked your steps before you; they truly understand what you’re experiencing and can knowledgeably assist you with your needs. We also have faculty members who work with us to assure that our services are of the highest quality. Our staff is part of a team that values the voice and contribution of every Baruch student who visits our center — that means you — and they are committed to helping others toward reaching their full potential. Please visit us as soon as the semester begins so that you can get all the help that you need, and remember, we’re free of charge. We look forward to helping you and encourage you to check out our Tutorial Services page for more specific info.

Nationally Accredited and Acclaimed!
SACC received national certification from the College Reading and Learning Association's International Tutor Certification Program in May 2003. CRLA is endorsed by the National Association for Developmental Education, Commission XVI of the American College Personal Association, the American Council of Developmental Education Associations, and the National Tutoring Association. CRLA guidelines stipulate that certified programs must train tutors rigorously and broadly covering such topics as learning styles, study skills, plagiarism, and cultural awareness.
SACC also received the National College Learning Center Association's Frank L. Christ Oustanding Learning Center Award for demonstrating a sustained commitment to academic excellence by providing academic support services to its undergraduate student body. The peer-tutoring program, which attained national certification in 2003 from the College Reading and Learning Association, also demonstrated that its training program was rigorous and comprehensive. All tutors receive extensive cross-training in areas such as cultural awareness, learning styles, plagiarism, communication skills and self-assessment.
