Deborah Balk

Deborah BalkDeborah Balk is Associate Director of the CUNY Institute for Demographic Research, and Professor at Baruch's Marxe School of Public and International Affairs and the CUNY Graduate Center (in the Sociology and Economics Programs). Balk is available to comment on:

— urbanization
— city growth
— demography of developing countries
— population and climate change
— population and environment interaction

Prior to coming to Baruch, Balk held appointments at Columbia University, the East-West Center, and the University of Michigan. She received her Ph.D. in Demography from the University of California at Berkeley, and her Master's degree in Public Policy, and AB in International Relations, from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
