Resorts World Casino New York City was opened on October 28, 2011. It is located in Jamaica, Queens and is part of the Aqueduct Racetrack. It is the only casino located in New York City. Genting America, the U.S. subsidiary of the GentingGroup, a Malaysian company, won the bid in developing the casino/racetrack costing $380 million. With its proximity to John F. Kennedy International Airport Genting America had hoped to attract tourists and visitors to New York City. However, most of the customer base resides in New York City. Genting currently employs about 1,700 people and generates approximately $500 million a year in revenue for New York State. The casino has 5,000 slots machines and electronic table games including baccarat, Craps, and Roulette. The casino has the largest slot gaming revenue in the United States.
The casino is open from 10am - 6am. There is a food court, a bar, a club, a steakhouse, and gift shops for logo apparel, snacks, and luxury accessories. Their largest venue features a 70,000 square feet venue for trade shows, concerts, dance parties, galas, holiday parties, and charity events for up to 3,000 guests with a parking lot. In addition to the parking lot and subway access, there are free shuttle buses from Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn to the casino.
