NYC and Long Island Students Face Off at Zicklin School of Business in JA New York's7th Annual Teen Business Plan Competition
Top Six Teams Will Move Forward to Compete for Cash Prizes Totaling $24,000
NEW YORK, NY- May 21, 2014 – On Friday May 23, Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business will host the semifinal round of the NYC’s biggest teen entrepreneurship contest - the 7thth Annual Junior Achievement of New York Business Plan Competition. Teams that make it through to the final round are competing for cash prizes valued at $24,000.
Who: 60 NYC and Long Island students have battled it through a pool of more than 700 students to make it to the semifinal round after several qualifying heats. The students will compete in 15 teams, consisting of four members each, to win a place in the final round scheduled on May 30, 2014.
Why: Recognizing the growing demand for high school level business education programs that are rigorous, relevant and can be applied in the real world, JA New York and the NASDAQ OMX Educational Foundation partnered together to develop a competition to seed NYC and Long Island students’ interest in entrepreneurship as a pathway to economic and social empowerment.
