Professor Micheline Blum Receives
Distinguished Service Award from the NY Chapter of
The American Association for Public Opinion Research

NEW YORK, NY- June 5, 2014 – Micheline Blum, Distinguished Lecturer and Director of the Baruch College Survey Research, was recently presented with the Distinguished Service Award by the New York Chapter of The American Association for Public Opinion Research (NYAAPOR). Blum, who is a professor with the School of Public Affairs at Baruch College, was recognized for her continued dedication and commitment to NYAAPOR.

Blum has served as NYAAPOR’s President twice and has served on its Executive Council 11 times, holding eight different offices – the most served by an NYAAPOR member. Blum has presented research at various NYAAPOR events and has served on many election panels. Blum has played a key role in other NYAAPOR events by developing programs, inviting speakers, and teaching questionnaire construction in the “Meet the Masters” program. Baruch College Survey Research has also hosted and co-sponosored several NYAAPOR events.

Blum has been featured as a Subject Matter Expert in the local and national media on topics including election polling, research analysis, survey results, and public opinion.

The American Association for Public Opinion Research is the leading professional organization of public opinion and survey research professionals. Its mission is to advocate the highest standards of ethical conduct for survey and opinion research, and to promote best practices in collecting, analyzing and interpreting survey data. It sets the standards, best practices and code of ethics for all polls.
