The Bernard L. Schwartz Communication Institute Presents 14th Annual Symposium on Communication

NEW YORK, NY- May 5, 2014 – Baruch College’s Bernard. L. Schwartz Communication Institute will host its 14th Annual Symposium on Communication and Communication-Intensive Instruction on Friday, May 30.

For the last 13 years, this day-long event has brought together leaders in business and education to explore how to best provide undergraduates and beginning professionals the tools they need to grow as effective, confident speakers and writers. Our program will feature round-table discussions, keynote presentations, and a hands-on workshop.

Baruch College President Mitchel Wallerstein will introduce keynote speaker Bernard L. Schwartz, Chairman and CEO, BLS Investments, LLC, while Provost David Christy will kick-off the symposium with opening remarks.

Featured speakers will include: Tariq Khan, Founder and CEO of Global Diversity Marketing; Danah Boyd, author and Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research; Erica Kaufman, Associate Director, Institute for Writing and Thinking, Bard College; and Bernard L. Schwartz; Grant Potter, Instructional Technologist, University of Northern British Columbia and Mikhail Gershovich, Educational Technology Consultant.

Founded in 1997 thanks to the generous support of Bernard L. Schwartz, a CUNY alumnus, the Bernard L. Schwartz Communication Institute encourages the emphasis of oral, written, and computer mediated communication across the curriculum at Baruch College.
