General Education Requirements

College Options for School of Public Affairs Students (BS Degree)

Students entering Baruch or opting in to Pathways in spring 2014 and after, must complete either the Weissman or Zicklin College Option[s].

Students entering Baruch or opting in to Pathways in fall 2013 must complete one of the following College Options:

1.   Students may fulfill the Weissman College Option;

2.   Students may fulfill the Zicklin College Option;

3.   Students may fulfill the School of Public Affairs college option as follows:

    • Students who enter as freshmen will take all four of the courses listed below:
    • Students who transfer with 30 or fewer total credits from any college (including non-CUNY regionally accredited colleges) will take all four of the courses listed below:
    • Students who transfer with more than 30 total credits from any college (including non-CUNY regionally accredited colleges) but without an associate degree will take the first three of the courses listed below:
    • Students who transfer with an associate degree from any college (including non-CUNY regionally accredited colleges) will take the first two of the courses listed below:
    • Students who receive transfer credit for one or more of these courses will determine the remaining courses to take with the advisor:

    Course 1

    CMP / ENG 2800

    or

    CMP / ENG 2850

    Great Works of Literature I

    or

    Great Works of Literature II

    Course 2   a 3000- or 4000-level liberal arts course selected by the student in consultation with the SPA faculty advisor
    Course 3   a 3000- or 4000-level liberal arts course selected by the student in consultation with the SPA faculty advisor
    Course 4   a 3000- or 4000-level liberal arts course selected by the student in consultation with the SPA faculty advisor
