SUBJECT: Invitation to the Fall 2005 CUNY Instructional/Information
Technology Conference

I am delighted to extend to you and your colleagues this invitation to attend the 4th Annual CUNY IT Conference, which will take place on December 2, 2005 at John Jay College.

This year's conference, again chaired by Professor George Otte, is even more content rich than last year's very successful gathering, for which we had 900 registrants.

Our 2005 theme -- How Is Change for the Better? -- has allowed us to develop a Conference Program of interest to both our academic and administrative communities, provided us with opportunities to showcase our best practices across the University, and challenged the presenters to discuss results as well as innovations.

The Conference Program is available at the URL below, which also links to the Conference e-registration application. Given last year's "full house" attendance, which continued a pattern of remarkable growth in each succeeding conference, I urge you to register in advance to avoid being turned away should capacity be reached. Registration is free to all members of the CUNY community, but space is limited.

I want to thank George and his committee for vetting the more than 80 proposals, and for selecting those that best represent general interests as well as the range of interests within the CUNY community.

The Conference begins at 8:30am with Registration, Vendor Exhibits, Poster Sessions and breakfast, and the first concurrent sessions start at 10am. At 11:15am, our Keynote presentation by Phil Long, Senior Strategist of MIT's Academic Computing Enterprise, will be "Recognizing Meaningful Elements in the 21st Century Learning Ecology." Lunch will be provided at 12:30pm, in the Exhibit area. Concurrent sessions will resume at 1:30pm and continue to 3:45pm, followed by a wrap up session in the Exhibit area. A special feature of the day will be the presentation of the 1st Annual Mike Ribaudo Award for Technological Innovation.

I hope you will join me in attending. Again, please register at the URL listed below.

Thank you.
