Event Description:
About the Program:
Do you know the difference between Blockchain and Bitcoin? Can you tell Ethereum from Ripple? Do you know how an ICO varies from an IPO? Did you know over 1,500 cryptocurrencies are currently being actively traded? If you are in any way interested in finance, you need to know the answers to these basic questions and much, much more. Join us as we host Charles Hwang, Managing Partner of Lightning Capital, for a conversation on the basics of Blockchain and what it means for the finance industry in 2018 and beyond.
About the Speaker:
Charles Hwang (MS ’15) is the Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager of Lightning Capital. Before founding the hedge fund, Mr. Hwang was a valuation consultant and a forensic accountant at Ernst & Young LLP. Over the past three years, Mr. Hwang has been heavily involved within the blockchain and altcoin communities. He has personally invested in multiple tokens. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Baruch College teaching a course on blockchain and cryptocurrencies. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder (CFA) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
