Extended by popular demand until May 8 only on our Facebook.
In response to our current circumstances, Baruch Performing Arts Center at Baruch College is happy to offer our audiences a special streaming performance of our Quartet-in-Residence, the Alexander String Quartet.
“An unusually fine group-musically, technically, in just about any way one wants to view it.” - New York Times
The Quartet chose Haydn’s moving and uniquely conceived work not just for its seasonal relevance but because of the way its seven sonatas embrace searching and contemplative intimacy. Their interpretation combines the movements with readings whose sources are both religious and secular, spanning many centuries - all meditations on the subject of human suffering, redemption and renewal. Performing it “together,” albeit from their respective homes while observing social distancing protocols, the Quartet brings this emotionally rich work to your home, hoping to offer both depth and comfort in difficult times.
In
this turbulent time, arts organizations like BPAC are struggling to
stay afloat as we continue programming and paying our dedicated artists and staff. Please consider donating the price of a ticket to ensure we can continue to present high quality performances when we all return to BPAC.
