Event Description: THE INFIDEL
Presented with the Sandra Kahn Wasserman Jewish Studies Center
East London taxi driver Mahmud
Nasir, a semi-liberal Muslim family man whose world gets disrupted by his
mother's death, goes into an emotional period compounded by his son's recent
engagement to a Pakistani "hate cleric's" step daughter. Mahmud
uncovers his birth certificate while cleaning out his mother's home and
discovers that he is adopted – and Jewish. This cross-cultural comedy of
identity stars British/Iranian comedian Omid Djalili and Richard Schiff,
written by David Baddiel. This film is not rated. 105 minutes.
