Event Description:
Dr. Zagheni will present on his latest research on measuring and modelling migratory movements of academic scientists. He will introduce a database developed in collaboration with his colleagues at Max Planck, measuring scholarly movements based on changes in authors' institutional affiliations from bibliometric data for over 36 million journal articles and reviews published since 1996. Dr. Zagheni will share findings from his recent work - using this novel data source - on how countries' economic development is related to emigration of scientists.
