Christopher Scott directs this Pulitzer Prize Winner for Drama 2003. In 1929 a stranger comes to Ybor City, Florida; Juan Julian is handsome, poetic and the embodiment time honored traditions. As lector, the first book that Juan Julian reads to the cigar factory workers is Anna Karenina, Tolstoy’s examination of longing, love and betrayal, whose story suddenly parallels the lives of the factory workers and forever changes the world of these people.
