About the Program:
Join NYCIGF@Baruch as we welcome Wall Street investment professional and Baruch College alumna Jie Hayes (MBA ’99) back to campus. Ms. Hayes will touch on a variety of topics ranging from her unique professional career path, to her philosophy on striking a work/life balance, to the changes in US asset management industry and market opportunities in China in the coming decades. A short presentation followed up by conversation and Q&A.
About the Speaker:
Jie Hayes (MBA ’99) is the founder and Portfolio Manager of Songbird Capital, an investment management company focuses on tailored, cost efficient and diversified investment programs for individual and institutional clients. Prior to launching Songbird Capital, Jie was Vice President in Investment and Portfolio Risk Management in Citi Alternative Investments. She was a member of the investment team that managed over $12 billion assets at its peak, undertook research and development of an index to mimic merger arbitrage strategy returns, and led a team to perform a feasibility study on creating an Asian Fund of Hedge Fund portfolio.
Jie is a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese. She was interviewed by Beijing TV in 2006 for the Documentary “Chinese Women on Wall Street”. In 2017, Jie became one of “Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Awards" recipients.
