Event Description:

The Harry S. Truman Scholarship provides funding for graduate school as preparation for a career in government or public service. Truman Scholars participate in leadership development programs & have special opportunities for internships & employment with the federal government. U.S. citizens & nationals who are in their junior year of full time undergraduate study are eligible to apply.

This spotlight presentation provides an overview of the Truman Scholarship and other related fellowships in public service and civic engagement such as the Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship, Junior Summer Institute.  There are fellowships and scholarships to help pay for graduate school; to fund professional development opportunities through internships; to conduct research; to study abroad; and to work for the good of your community.  The session offers advice on selecting a fellowship opportunity; and gives suggestions on competition strategies.
