Event Description:
Indexing: Introduction to
Financial and Economic Indices
Workshop will be presented on-line via ZOOM.
This
workshop will introduce participants to the concept of statistical indexing and
composite statistics, how these indices are composed and used to measure and
indicate changes in society. Examples covered will be stock indices; S&P
500 & Dow Jones Industrial Average, economic indices; Misery Index &
Consumer Confidence Index, and social science indices like the Heat Index, Wind
Chill Index, and the Big Mac Index.
After
you register, you will receive a unique link to join the session on ZOOM the
day prior to the session.
Registrants
need a personal computer or laptop with access to ZOOM.
A
video recording of this session will be made available to participants, and
those unable to participate, after the workshops are conducted.
