A reading and celebration of Professor Bridgett Davis' new novel, INTO THE GO-SLOW. Sponsored by Baruch's Women's and Gender studies Program.


A November is CUNY Month Event

BRIDGETT M. DAVIS’s debut novel, Shifting through Neutral, was a finalist for the 2005 Hurston/Wright Legacy Award. Davis is the books editor at Bold As Love Magazine, an online black-culture site, and her work has appeared in the Washington Post, Essence, O, The Oprah Magazine, and, among other publications. Davis was also a screenwriter/producer and director for the 1998 film, Naked Acts, which won numerous awards and screened in 25 film festivals on four continents. In 2007, she received the Excellence in Education Award by the New York Association of Black Journalists. 

Professor Davis teaches journalism and creative writing courses within the journalism major at the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences. Davis earned a BA in English from Spelman College in Atlanta and an MS in Journalism from Columbia University.
