Event Description:
The Jewish Studies Center (JSC) in the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences reflects the legacy and heritage of the college, its tradition of educating New York City immigrants, its diverse population, and its special relationship to and place within Manhattan.

Keynote Address:
++ Dr. Carol Zemel, Professor of Modern and Contemporary Art History York University, "New Jews\New Diasporas: Re-forming identity in the Visual Arts" Dr. Zemel was a Fellow at the Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, completed a book titled Graven Images: Visual Culture and Modern Jewish History and is co-founder and co-director of Project Mosaica, a web-based exploration of Jewish cultural expression in the arts.

8-8:30: Closing Reception (Note: Baruch Performing Arts Center entrance is on 25th Street, between Lexington and Third Avenue.)
