Event Description: Dear Baruch Community,
You're invited to our upcoming Leadership Conversation on Monday, December 12 at 5:00 pm Eastern Time!
We're proud to announce that the month's topic is Disability Justice, where we will be discussing how nonprofits can support and champion the rights of people with disabilities in their organizations, both in the workplace and the community.
People with disabilities comprise the largest minority group in the nation, with one in five Americans having a disability. Still, people with disabilities are subject to unjust policies that institutionalize and replicate prejudice and limit access to opportunities. Please join our speakers, Leadership Fellows alumni, mentors, and faculty for a conversation about how our nonprofit community can best support and advocate for people with disabilities.
Our speakers will include Victor Calise, Director of Global Culture, Equity, and Inclusion at Walmart, Mike Cush, Chief Program Officer of Visions Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, and a Fellowship Alum, Sharon McLennon Wier, Executive Director of the Center for Independence of the Disabled, and Rachel Pardoe, Senior Program Director at the New York Community Trust.
