The Weissman School’s mission is to engage all Baruch students with the learning of the liberal arts and sciences, in order to prepare them to lead responsible and fulfilling lives as professionals, as citizens, and as individuals.
The Weissman faculty strives to improve our students’ skills of analysis and communication, to develop their intellectual and ethical judgment, to encourage their awareness of complexity and difference, to expand their cultural, societal and scientific horizons, to cultivate democratic and global knowledge and engagement in them, and to prepare them for work in a rapidly changing society.
At the same time our faculty contributes significantly to the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences through research, scholarship, and creative works. The school’s mission is to attract a faculty able to make such contributions and to create an environment in which the faculty can flourish, and serve our college, our university, and our society.
