Journalism student wins scholarship
Carlos Macias, co-editor of the 2008 issue of Dollars & Sense who previously won the prestigious Reynolds scholarship, has been named a winner of the annual scholarship awarded by the New York Financial Writers Association.

The awards will be presented at a dinner on June 10.
Earlier this year, Macias, who is double-majoring in business journalism and history, was one of eight students nationally to win a $4,000 scholarship from the Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism.
Macias, 32, came to Baruch in 2004 after studies at LaGuardia and Nassau community colleges. In the summer of 2007, he interned at Consumer Reports magazine and now works there part-time.
Since January, he has also been working for the Americas Society/Council of the Americas Web site as a contributing writer. In addition to his work with D&S, he has published articles at City Limits online and at the AS/COA Web site, as well as in The Ticker.
