Business Journalism Major

The Business Journalism major at Baruch College is the only such undergraduate curriculum within City University and one of the few in the country. It offers Baruch undergraduates an opportunity to develop expertise in journalism, business, and policy. Requiring prerequisite courses in marketing, management, economics, statistics and computers, the interdisciplinary specialization crosses schools and departments to take full advantage of the College’s strong business and journalism offerings. Students take required courses that include Journalistic Writing, Business and Financial Writing, Marketing, Management and a Media Internship. Students also take a wide range of electives ranging from Investigative Reporting, to Politics and Policy in the Business Press, to Environmental Reporting.
