The Ticker launches online issue
By Michael Wursthorn
Managing Editor, The Ticker
The Ticker is about to take a bold step forward into the digital world as we embrace the technology that is practically destroying the newspaper industry.
Each Thursday morning, a second online version of The Ticker – packed with online videos, audio reports and slideshows -- will be published. The online version will give us the opportunity to cover more events than ever.
Space and priority will no longer be a concern since we can provide coverage of events by upstart clubs and established organizations alike.
This small step for The Ticker will lead into a major evolution as we embrace online media this fall. In September, you will see video journalists on campus reporting on breaking stories. Not only will you be able to read about what is going on, you will also be able to see it first hand.
The Ticker plans on being a multi-faceted news organization that can provide full coverage on a wide range of topics. The Ticker plans on bringing breaking news to you immediately, as well as providing news on weeks the newspaper is not printed.
This will keep students up to date with what is happening on campus. Please support our new initiative by continuing to read the print edition of The Ticker as well as our online edition.
