Prof. Rollyson publishes new book about the craft of writing biographies

Professor Carl Rollyson’s new book, Biography: A User's Guide, was reviewed in the most recent issue of the newsletter, The Biographer’s Craft. The reviewer, Nigel Hamilton, described Rollyson’s book as an “unabashedly personal guidebook to the craft, the art, and the history of the genre.” Rollyson got a double billing as he then reviewed Hamilton’s new book, How To Do Biography: A Primer. •Rollyson also wrote the lead article, “The State of Biography,” in the Spring 2008 edition of The University Bookman, a quarterly scholarly journal.

Sci-fi thriller is professor's debut novel

Professor Michel Marriott is out with his first novel, The Skull Cage Key, a science-fiction thriller set in mid-21st-century Harlem. The book meshes his love of Harlem and his knowledge about, and interest in, new technology garnered during years of covering technology for The New York Times.
